Description

A boat tour at Isola delle Femmine with Captain Toti: swimming and snorkeling stops in the Capogallo marine protected area, with Sicilian street food served on board.

This boat tour at Isola delle Femmine puts you on the Toti L. with its captain, who tells the story of the sea and of the seaside village as you cruise through the Capogallo and Isola delle Femmine marine protected area. The water is clear, the seabed rich in life, and the bow has a spacious solarium for sunbathing between stops.

The route brings you past the tower called Torre in Terra and the "di Fuori" ones, once lookouts against raiders, and the islet itself, whose legends the captain tells. On the way to Barcarello there is a cave to visit, and the boat makes three swimming stops in the protected area. Masks and snorkels are provided, and children can try fishing with rods under the captain's guidance. The platform on the boat is also used for dives.

Food is part of the trip. Palermo street food comes out on board:

  • sfincione and "cunzatu" bread
  • panelle, arancine and cazzilli
  • fresh fruit and drinks, including chilled prosecco

The stories also cover the local fishermen and the Ghost Net recovery projects. A sunrise tour to look for dolphins, a sunset tour and a night tour with a candlelit seafood dinner can be arranged on request. Plan on about three hours aboard, with a live guide in English or Italian. Pregnant women and people prone to seasickness are advised against it.
