Get ready for an unforgettable Sicilian adventure! We'll pick you up at 8:15 AM sharp and whisk you away to the enchanting hilltop town of Erice. Legend whispers that the Elymians, an ancient people, settled here, establishing a sacred site dedicated to the goddess Venus. Explore its captivating medieval streets, a labyrinth of charm, and indulge your sweet tooth at renowned pastry shops, famous worldwide for their exquisite marzipan and other delectable almond and pistachio treats. After arriving, take some time to wander independently, and be sure to sample some local Sicilian sweets – you won't regret it! Enjoy a light and delicious lunch at a traditional Sicilian olive oil farm, savoring the flavors of the region with a tasting of local products. This afternoon, we'll embark on a scenic drive along the Salt Way Road, marveling at the stunning salt pans where sea salt is still harvested using age-old Phoenician methods, a tradition preserved through the centuries. Our journey then continues to Marsala, the "Marsa Allah" – Harbor of God – a town renowned globally for its exceptional wine. Discover the history of Marsala, Italy's oldest wine, boasting an average alcohol content of around 18%. We'll head back to Palermo in the late afternoon (approximately 4 PM, depending on traffic).
