Description
This Fiat 500 tour of Palermo by night puts you in a colourful vintage car for a drive through the old city after dark, when the cathedrals and Baroque facades are lit and the streets feel like a film set. You can take the wheel yourself or leave the driving to your guide, and the little car fits into lanes that larger vehicles cannot enter. The tour lasts about three and a half hours.
The route links the city's great landmarks. You pass the gateways of Porta Felice and the Porta di Palermo with the sea breeze coming in from the Tyrrhenian, stop at the Murale Falcone e Borsellino and roll into Piazza Marina, home to one of the oldest and largest trees in Europe. From there the drive reaches the music and food of Mercato Ballarò, then Quattro Canti, the Palermo Cathedral, the Teatro Massimo, Fontana Pretoria and the churches of Santa Caterina and the Gesù.
You can also choose a detour: the seafront of Mondello with Monte Pellegrino behind it, or the hilltop views of Monreale. Stops for local food or a handmade souvenir are up to you, and a flight over the city or a sunset aperitif by boat can be requested when booking.
