Description
The limoncello workshop and Sicilian BBQ near Palermo is a hands-on half day of around four hours that starts among the lemon trees. Transport is included.
First you pick fresh lemons straight from the branches. Then local experts walk you through the whole process of making limoncello: cleaning, peeling and maceration. They share the little tricks that make a better liqueur, and you do the work yourself, so wear comfortable clothes suited to the outdoors.
Once you know the technique, lunch is served. The barbecue brings skewers, sausages and stigghiola, and it comes with traditional Sicilian appetizers.
- Starters: caponata, Sicilian-style bruschetta, sfincione and insalata di rinforzo
- A traditional Sicilian spaghetti dish
- Drinks, seasonal fruit and dessert
It is a hands-on experience: you handle the fruit yourself, from the first lemon to the last step of the recipe, so come ready to get involved, and expect to spend part of the day outdoors. The workshop is run in English or Italian.
