Description
The Zingaro catamaran tour from Balestrate shows Sicily's west coast from the water over a full day of about seven hours. It leaves from Balestrate harbour, a handy boarding point for visitors coming from Palermo, with a large car park, toilets and showers.
The route calls at the Zingaro reserve, Sicily's first protected area, with stops to snorkel over the seabed and reach the coves. It then passes the tuna fishery, then the rock towers off Scopello and the grottos around Castellammare del Golfo. Dolphins are often seen too. The route and times can change with the weather, at the captain's discretion.
Not a confident swimmer? The crew swims beside you at your pace or takes you to the beaches by stand-up paddleboard. You can also dive from the bow, about a metre up, and swim under the hull.
