Description
The Doganella Fountain, also known as the Porto Salvo Fountain, is a Renaissance fountain in Palermo, designed by Antonello Gagini in 1526.
The fountain is located in front of the northern facade of the Church of Santa Maria di Porto Salvo. It is made of grey marble from Mount Billiemi. The name derives from the presence of the homonymous gate, which was destroyed due to the extension of the Cassaro.
