Description
Piazza Caracciolo is a square located in the La Loggia or Mandamento Castello a Mare neighborhood in the historic center of Palermo, and is the heart of the Vucciria market.
The square was arranged by Viceroy Caracciolo in 1783, although it no longer retains its image from that time. Currently, during the day, it retains the historical appearance of the market, being completely filled with vendors, especially butchers. At night, its appearance changes and it becomes a meeting place for lovers of reggae and rap music, as themed concerts are organized.
