Description
The Vicari Gate (also known as the Sant'Antonino Gate) was one of the oldest gates of Palermo. The gate has been in its current location since the 17th century when it was originally built, and it underwent several modifications over the years. Its present form is due to the viceroy Marcantonio Colonna di Stigliano, who commissioned its reconstruction in 1780. It was located opposite the Maqueda Gate.
